The only time he sees him is early in the morning for a few precious seconds. Will he have the balls to ever say hi?
Warnings: Swearing, Homosexuality, Slight stalkerishness
Previous Chapters:
Chapter 1 Chapter 2 Chapter 3

I panicked and froze on the spot. How was I supposed to answer that? I didn't notice it at first but my body started to heat up and beads of sweat ran down my face. I could feel my hands starting to tremble as I watched him put the card on the counter and put the numerous six-packs into bags, I flinched as his intense questioning stare moved to look into my own hazel eyes. His eyes were like deep pools of hazel questioning my every move. Whimpering, I quickly grabbed my card off the desk and raced out of the store with the bags of beer held tightly in my hands.

I didn't stop running (staggering hopelessly out of breath) until I reached my old two story house. As soon as I was at the door I placed the bags onto the ground and looked back at the mini mall, fishing out my keys from my pocket in the process. I shakily put the key in the lock and opened the door. Breathlessly I grabbed my bags and lugged them inside. I didn't bother going to the kitchen to put the beer in the fridge for I knew that tonight wasn't going to be any different from last night or the night before that. Me drowning my misery with alcohol, cigarettes and old horror movies on my beloved rusty red couch. I trudged into the living room and dropped the bags of alcohol onto the small oak coffee table. I dumped my sweaty panting body onto the couch and opened a beer while flipping the switch on the remote for the TV.

Once I've started, it doesn't stop. Beer after beer after beer. Soon I was drunk out of my mind, mumbling slurred words to myself about how much of a pathetic loser I am. I drank/cried myself to sleep every night, smoked like a chimney, couldn't even walk to the store without having to stop and catch my breath and was relying on my mother too pay my own bills. My life was pretty fucking screwed. I remember back in High school. I got good grades, was very social and had a great boyfriend. But of course, that all went to hell just like everything else good in my life. I got in with the wrong crowd, started drinking which eventually lead to drugs which eventually led me to attempting suicide. And of course my (ex) boyfriend didnt stay long after the times I came home drunk, stoned and depressed and abused him. Those where the scariest moments of my life. I thought I had no one. So I thought 'Screw life, nothings worth it' and grabbed out my trusty razor blade that I obtained from a 'friend', sat in the clear water of the bath tub and cut my wrists a few times turning the water a deep crimson colour. I was slowly slipping into unconsciousness when Mikey found me and called an ambulance.

I can't remember what happened after that but I'm pretty sure that after I got out of hospital mom sent me too a therapist. I have always been deeply grateful to Mikey for saving my life and I don't know what I'd do without him. He helped me through the rest of that time and I finally finished High school clean and sober. Unfortunately once I finished collage I started drinking again. I've never told Mikey that I started drinking again in case he got worried that I might try to kill myself again. I try so hard to give it up for him. He's done everything for me and I repay him with drinking my way to oblivion. I sighed and turned my attention away from my depressing thoughts and back to the TV screen.

*

That was...odd. I was starting to get a little bit more than just freaked out. I wasn't sure if that was the guy but he just kind of looked at me as if to say 'Oh shit, I'm busted' and ran out of the shop without answering my question. I tried to get over the fact that this guy, Gerard, lives a couple of houses away from me. I tried to get rid of the thought of this 'Gerard' But I just couldn't seem to get over how...well...beautiful..he was. For a creepy stalkerish alcoholic he was really, really gorgeous. I mean his pale skin was flawless; his body was perfect (especially the way those tight...tighter than tight... black jeans clung to his thin legs) and his eyes...they were the most gorgeous things I had ever seen. Beautiful, sparkling hazel eyes that could have anyone fall to there knees in pure awe with just one glance. I would give anything to just stare at them. Whoa, wait a minute here. This guy has been watching me for the last 3 days and probably longer and I'm thinking about staring into his eyes? I was really starting to creep myself out.

For the rest of the afternoon I tried to shake my mind of the thoughts of this mysterious Gerard and tried to concentrate on work. I was a bit nervous because this was my first day and I was hoping to make a good impression on the customers and on my boss. I was proven to be a pretty good cashier as people were smiling and making small conversation with me at the register. Being my very social self I started to like working here meeting new people and getting paid for it.

I was almost the end of my shift and I was extremely tired. There weren't many people in the store anymore apart from Myself, Bill and Josh, the guy who also worked here. He didn't speak much, just went along doing his job. He had long dark brown hair pulled back into a loose pony tail and was tall and muscular. He looked to be in his late 20's and always wore a sort of grim expression on his face. I wondered how long he'd been doing this job. I didn't dare speak to him unless he spoke first. His expression gave off an 'I'm going to kill you' sort of vibe. I didn't like it so most of the time I didn't take any notice of him when he moved boxes onto the counter and purposely pushed past me to get to his destination. Bill on the other hand, seemed like a pretty nice guy once you got to know him. Under the big tough guy act he seemed like a big push-over. His voice pulled me out of my thoughts.

"Hey kid, why don't you go home aye?" Bill suggested. "You look pretty tired and you did well on your first day," I smiled weakly at him and nodded. Now that I thought about it I felt like I was going to drop at any given moment.
"Do you want me to help clean up or anything?" I asked tiredly.
"Nah, its okay; me and Josh will do that," Bill replied. "But remember, this is your first day, 'n I don't want ya slackin' off tomorrow" He added with a hit of amusement in his voice.
"Ok thanks Bill" I gave a small wave and walked out the door.

As I stepped into the cool air of night, I had the sudden urge for a cigarette. I took the packet from my hoodie and lit one. Putting them back in my pocket, I began my short journey home. I never really noticed how quiet it was in this suburb. Or how many broken street lights there were. As I passed the all too familiar creamy two-story house I felt a slight chill run through my body and I willed my legs to move faster through the harsh weather. I had an odd feeling that some one was watching me. Anyone could have been watching. Gerard could have been watching. At the thought of his name I began to pick up my pace again. If it was fear or curiosity I will never know but I stopped and turned around to see no one along the foot path and all of the lights turned off in his house. 'Frank you're such a pansy, Stop over reacting' I scolded myself. I turned back towards my destination only to be met by a hand grabbing my throat and lifting me off the ground.

"Hello Frankie," Josh said in a some what calm voice. His hair was out and draped across his lean face and broad shoulders making him look even scarier than before. I tried to struggle against his gruesome fingers wrapping tighter around my neck.
"If you got a problem with me then now's your chance to let it all out," He said with a sly smirk spread across his face. I shook my head vigorously out of fear. My eyes widened as I struggled for breath. Josh chuckled slightly then said
"Until tomorrow, baby boy" He said in a sickly sweet voice. He kissed my lips quickly and dropped me. I hit the cold pavement with a loud thump. He turned on his heal and walked off in another direction leaving me gasping for breath and wondering just what the fuck he was on about.

*

I held the loaded paint brush steady in my colourful artist hand. Carefully, I began brining colour and life to my creation. I had been siting in my art room for over 2 hours now drawing on the pure white canvas, making sure ever little detail was perfect and finally, I was brining it to life. Unlike everything else in my house, my paintings brightened the place up. Most of the windows were covered with black out curtains and the only time they were moved was when I was staring out at the man who is probably scared shitless of me now. There was basically no natural light in my house. I lightly dabbed another paint brush into some more colour and applied it to my art work.

Another two and a half hours went by and my art work was done. I don't exactly know what it was because I held a beer in my hand along with several others scattered around me and my brain wasn't functioning properly anymore. I smiled to myself whilst sitting back admiring the colours on the once white canvas. I leaned back a little more and fell off my chair. "SHIT" I exclaimed "A-almost losht my beer" I took the last gulp of the alcohol and discarded it with the others lying around on the ground.

As I slowly got up I heard the doorbell ring. Who the hell? I thought silently as I walked/stumbled out of the room and down the stairs. I wasn't expecting anyone. I didn't know anyone. I opened the door and was taken back by who stood in front of me.
"M-Mikey," I stuttered, suddenly sobbering up a little "Wha-What are you d-doing here?"
"Alicia kicked me out and mums gone away. I was wondering if I could stay here for a while" Mikey said looking down at his feet.
"Umm...sure Mikes," I opened the door wider to let him in. I thanked my lucky stars that I had cleaned up the beer bottles in my lounge room earlier. I didn't want Mikey to know that I was drinking. I suddenly covered my mouth. Mikey would probably be able to smell it on my breath if I wasn't careful.
"Uh...Sit down and I'll be back k?" I said motioning towards the couch. I ran up the stairs and into my bathroom.

I grabbed my tooth brush and tooth paste and basically squeezed the whole tube into my mouth. Once I was satisfied that the smell was gone from my breath I changed into something more comfortable and free of the smell of alcohol and walked back downstairs, shutting the art room door as I went. I walked into the living room to find Mikey sitting on the couch watching cartoons. I sat beside him and offered him a cigarette. He took one thankfully and I lit it for him. I lit mine and sat back into the couch.

"So what's up?" I asked casting him a glance. He sighed audibly and looked at his feet again.
"Alicia kicked me out of my own flat because we had this huge fight," he said softly.
"About what?" I insisted he go on.
"Well...she asked me about marriage. And I kind of started to freak out. I mean I'm too young to get married just yet! And then she got all offended and we got into a huge argument and then I ended up outside my door. I told her to let me back in but it was no use so I came here," Mikey explained. I nodded slowly. I could see tears forming in his eyes and I pulled him into a tight hug.
"Shh....Mikey its okay...Sometimes there's disagreements between couples and you feel like you can't stand each other anymore but everything works out in the end...It'll be okay I promise," I cooed stroking his back soothingly as he cried softly into my shoulder. He pulled back and gave me a small smile. I wiped away the remainder of his tears and smiled back.
"Thanks Gee you're the best" He replied sniffling a little and pulled me into another warm hug. I pulled away from my brother and asked if he was hungry. He nodded and I went into the kitchen to find something for dinner.

The only time he sees him is early in the morning for a few precious seconds. Will he have the balls to ever say hi?
Warnings: Swearing, Homosexuality, Slight stalkerishness
Previous Chapters:
Chapter 1 Chapter 2

After my reminiscing time had finished, leaving me feeling more alone then ever, I decided to get ready for work at Bill's. I went to my bathroom and had a shower, after thoroughly cleaning myself; I turned off the water and reached out to grab my fluffy cotton towel. Soon after I was dressed, wearing my black jeans and one of my many black shirts. Using my towel to wipe the condensation off the mirror, I looked into it. I looked so… so down hearted like I wasn't sure of anything anymore. I pulled my self away from the mirror. I couldn't let myself think like that anymore.

I walked out of my bathroom and into the kitchen. There was about half an hour before I had to go to work so I made myself a salad sandwich and sat at the table to eat. When I was about halfway through my sandwich I heard a knock on the door.

I left my sandwich on the table and went to open the door. A pair of lips kissing me softly on the cheek greeted me.

"Hey babe, sorry about having to leave before but I'm back now." It was Adrian.

"That's okay, it's your job I understand," I said leading him out of the doorway into the lounge room, "Speaking of jobs I got one today."

"Oh that’s great," he said very dully.

I was a little confused, he was always usually happy for me when I told him things.

"Babe, are you okay?" I asked.

"Yeah, I just uh…when do you start?" he said avoiding eye contact with me.

"In about half an hour." I said feeling a little angry, why was he acting this way.

"Oh, I better go then so you can finish getting ready," he said and then just walked back to the door and left.

I stormed back into the kitchen and threw the remainder of my sandwich in the bin.

'What the fuck was that all about,' I thought angrily to myself. I stormed around for a while longer until I realised, I should leave or I'd be late for work. I grabbed my hoodie off a chair and was soon walking in the cold open outdoors.

I had been at work for about an hour. I was still angry about what had happened between Adrian and I because he had never done something like that before but I couldn't think about that now. I was really busy; Bill's always had a constant stream of people and they always bought large amounts so I had to be careful to not put something through the scanner twice, I had done that at the start of my shift and the guy nearly decked me.

'I must live in a very alcoholic part of town,' I thought to myself as another ten people walked through the door.

*

I was lying on my couch surrounded by empty cans of beer; the last half full one was resting precariously in my hand. I was in a drunken stupor, although the effects of the alcohol were beginning to wear off. I stayed like this for a couple of hours, thinking about how stupid I was to look out the window again this morning as I had been spotted yesterday and well I had been spotted again.

I came out of my dazed state from hearing the beer can finally fall out of my hand and onto the floor, luckily the floor was tiled so it wouldn't stain. I got up slowly and carefully as I was beginning to get a headache and went to grab a tea towel to wipe up the wasted beverage. I felt horrible at myself once again; I had drunk a few six packs in the space of two hours. I was certain that sooner or later I was going to get liver poisoning.

"Next time I buy beer, I'll make it last a few days," I promised to myself once again but it was pointless. Every time I started drinking I couldn't stop until there was no beer left.

I sat down again and buried my head in my hands. I was the most pathetic life form imaginable. I was an alcoholic gay stalker, obsessed with a person I knew nothing about. I got up deciding nothing would happen while I sat here and moped, so I decided to go paint. I always painted when I got into a mood like this, it usually helped and it gave me a slight income as a few people really liked my art and would buy it from me.

After a couple of hours I was beginning to make some progress on my painting, it was of a gothic mansion beginning to get demolished, it was also raining adding to the misery of the picture, I was about to add some fine details to the roof when I got a craving for beer, so placing my brush in some fresh water and made my way to the fridge, completely forgetting about my earlier binge. I sighed miserably once realising that I was going to have to walk to the shop because this craving wasn't going to go away. I walked into my bathroom and had a quick shower as I smelt quite strongly of beer and cigarettes, as I tended to smoke more while drinking. After making sure I no longer smelt bad, I got changed into some clean clothes. I grabbed my black hoodie on the way out and put the hood up. Hopefully it would make some one less likely to notice my pathetic existence.

Ten minutes later I was at the mall near my house. I looked over at Bill's Discount Booze; they were advertising a special on the brand of beer I liked. I didn't usually shop at Bill's but if there was a discount I'd be stupid to pay full price at the grocery store.

*

I looked up again as the little chime went off, signifying that a customer had entered the shop. I didn't take much notice, as I had to serve another customer; After serving them I looked up again and noticed that the person at the door was staring at me with a look of shock on their face. I also had a look of shock on my face, this was the guy that I had told myself was imaginary. I looked away and rubbed my eyes. I looked back to make sure that this wasn't just my mind tricking me, but he was still standing there having only moved a little so he was no longer standing in the way of the door.

This was the first time; I had actually gotten a good look at him. He was deathly pale like he hadn't been in the sun for god knows how long and had black hair but I couldn't see the length of it due to his hoodie but I had noticed that before, he was also tallish and incredibly good-looking. The thing that really got me though was his beautiful deep hazel eyes. I looked at what he was wearing, a Misfits shirt and tight… tighter than tight…black jeans. I think he realised then that I was looking at him stare at me because he looked into my eyes for a split second before quickly turning so that I could only see his back. He then went to the beer fridge at the back of the room. I stared at him for a little while longer until I realised I was actually at work and had to serve angry impatient customers.

I was a little creeped out, this was the guy that had been spying on me the last two mornings and probably longer but for some reason I couldn't stop looking at him. He was just so damn beautiful. Dare I say it he was probably more attractive than any one else I had ever seen, even Adrian. I saw him walking towards the check out; he was carrying two six-packs of beer. He was looking around shiftily like he was really nervous and unsure of whether to come forward or not.

He then hesitantly moved toward the check out. He looked down at his feet while getting his credit card out of his wallet. I decided to talk to him; the store had become empty so it wasn't going to inconvenience anyone. I was very nervous though; he had been spying on me after all.

"Hi, I'm Frank," I said hoping that he would reply.

There was silence for a long time before he looked up, passing me his credit card to swipe in the machine and said awkwardly, "Uh…hi, I'm Gerard."

"I'm sorry but have you been spying on me?" I asked, may as well be upfront about it.

The only time he sees him is early in the morning for a few precious seconds. Will he have the balls to ever say hi?
Warnings: Swearing, Homosexuality, Slight stalkerishness
Previous Chapters:
Chapter 1

My natural body clock got me up and into the kitchen before I could object. I lazily made my morning coffee and walked back out into my bedroom. I sat down on the bed and thought about which track I would take today. I was a bit tired from yesterday's late night.

'I think I'll take the short track today'

I slipped into my hoodie and sweat pants before finishing my coffee and putting my trainers on. I locked the door behind me and descended down my pathway to continue out my morning ritual. I shoved my cigarettes, lighter and keys into my pocket before taking off up the hill. I was a pretty good runner for a smoker. I slowly came down the extremely steep hill, cautious of the loose gravel on the pavement.

As I reached the bottom I slowed to my usual walking pace. My breath was starting to wear out a little so I had to walk. Some kind of force pulled my eyes to the exact same creamy coloured house that I had never really noticed before until yesterday. I looked at the window and saw the exact same ghostly white figure staring intently at me. And again, just like yesterday morning, he pulled the curtains shut. This started to freak me a little, I mean, was this guy stalking me or something. I saw him about three times yesterday. At the window for my morning run, when he drove past and I swore I got a glimpse of a pale face and black hair in the grocery store, but I couldn't be sure it was the same guy. I quickly dismissed these thoughts in order to think of something happy but something made me turn. Whether it was curiosity or not I still turned. I was a little startled to see a sliver of a pale face partially covered by a dark fringe staring at me through a small gap in the curtains. I did not see this person for long though, for they were quick to noticing me staring and suddenly disappeared from my view.

I turned back to face my direction of travel and picked up my pace. I was a little shook up as there was next to no chance that this person was looking at anything other than me. Who gets up at 5:30 to stare out of a window unless they're looking for a certain something or someone?
'He must be a stalker,' I thought bitterly to myself.
Those kinds of people really disgusted me.
'Hang on Frank; if this guy is a stalker which he most likely is, he knows where you live.'

Great, I had freaked myself out now. No longer was my breathing fast because of my strenuous exercise, it was fast because I was nervous and scared. I ran the short track along the road. I had come to the conclusion that I wasn't being stalked and there was no one in that house. It was just my imagination. Yeah, my imagination. I had always had a very imaginative mind as a child. I would make up imaginary friends due to my lack of real friends.

Once I was back in my home, I felt a sudden uneasiness fade. I retreated to my couch, sweaty and hot. The day had not yet heated up but I was still hot and flustered due to the heavy exercise. I turned on the T.V to watch the morning cartoons. I was soon back in a deep sleep that lasted for about four hours until my doorbell rang. I grumbled a 'Come in' and heard the door creak open. A loud, happy voice was heard calling my name. I smiled and sat up knowing exactly who it was.

"Hey baby," I smiled sleepily up at my boyfriend.
"What are you doing still in bed Frank!?!?...well couch," He laughed.
"Shut up its only 10," I replied looking up at my purple wall clock.
"Rough night aye?" Adrian said moving his eyebrows up and down.
"Yeah, the hooker I had last night was amazing," I exclaimed. "My ass is gunna be numb for a week"
He pouted and said, "I thought you loved meee!
"I do," I replied overdramatically.
"Prove it," He smirked.
"Oh I will," I grinned evilly before pulling him onto the couch and switching our positions so I was straddling his hips. Again I grinned and pushed my lips to his. His tongue parted my lips eagerly. After about a 5-minute make out session we parted and Adrian gazed into my eyes with his honey brown coloured ones.
"I missed you," He said, not losing eye contact with me.
"But we had sex last night!" I replied with a little disbelieve.
"I know! But I had to go 'cause I had to deliver some Labrador pups! And I didn't get to come back to my Frankie baby," He said stating the obvious.
"Well, why don't we continue from where we left off," I whispered kissing his neck softly.

He didn't answer I didn't need an answer. I slowly began to make my way down his body, my hands finding their way to his belt buckle. Just as they were about to unclasp it, his mobile rang.
"Babe, I have to take this call," he said sadly. He then answered his phone and talked for half a minute before hanging up. "Sorry, I have to go, this life of a vet on call gets frustrating sometimes," he said kissing my lips just once before leaving.

I sighed miserably to myself; I hadn't spent a full day with Adrian since forever ago. 'At least he's doing something with his life,'
I had been unemployed for a while now and I was starting to run out of money out of my bank account, which meant it was time to get a new job.
I walked outside to get the local paper from my mailbox. Once inside I opened my newspaper to the jobs page, I saw all of the jobs wanted previous experience except for one.

JOB WANTED
Store Cashier average pay, small hours, 5 days a week, no experience needed. Apply at Bill's Discount Booze: Lot 15, Moriarty Street Mall, Smith Street.

I knew that place, it was at the dingy mall where I bought my groceries and it was walking distance from here. It sounded like an okay job and it was better than nothing, I needed money. I decided to go check it out straight away.

Ten minutes later I was at Bill's Discount Booze; it was a small alcohol shop, a little run down looking but with a constant stream of people walking in and out. I walked in and saw a grotesquely fat bald man at the counter, I guessed this was Bill so I went and introduced myself and said I saw the advertisement and wanted the job. He then showed me what I was going to be doing, working the cash register, nothing difficult. He then told me that I would be working Tuesday-Saturday from 3pm until 9pm. "Seeing as today's Tuesday you can come back at three and start. Wear all black and you'll get your pay every Saturday," Bob said gruffly. I thanked him briefly before beginning my walk home.

I walked to the bottom of the hill and had a sudden urge to get home as fast as I could while walking past the creamy white house with black curtains. I just couldn't help but look up at it walking that tad bit faster. Luckily there was no sign of life coming from it so I just look back at the ground and kept walking.

I signed as I opened my door and kicked off my shoes, walking straight into the kitchen for a cup of coffee. God how I loved the heaven sent stuff. Leaning against the bench I made a small 'mmm' as I sipped the steaming caffeine. I stared at the kitchen table wondering how I ever got into a relationship with Adrian. He was always away doing some sort of veterinary surgery or something. I mean I was happy for him but it was like we never got to spend anytime together anymore. We used to be the perfect couple. We still are but he's kinda never around anymore. I remember the first time we met.

A couple of friends of mine had dragged me to a party on Christmas Eve to have a few drinks a few years ago. And this 'small gathering' was actually this huge get-together with a bit more than just 'a few friends'. Even though I was pretty social I felt a little self-conscious due to all the people I didn't know. I sat around for a while talking to random people about nothing whilst my friends went off with other random people. Then the karaoke started. It is quiet fun to watch drunken people trying to sing to 'Like a Virgin'. Then I spotted him. He was the most gorgeous guy I had ever seen with his short brown hair with honey brown eyes and a body like an angel. He got up onto the table and started dancing along with the music so I thought he was obviously popular with such a bold move like that. Everyone was soon wolf whistling and shouting at him to take off his shirt. He did (mind you it was enough to tighten my pants) and everyone started laughing as he danced like a hooker. I was sat on the couch just drinking up the site before my eyes wanting to get in his pants. Soon the crowd died away and he got off the table while putting his shirt back on and walking into the kitchen to get another beer. I took this as my chance and boldly got up off the couch and followed him, making sure to sway my hips as noticeably as possible. Once in the kitchen I saw him bend down to get something out of an esky. I almost died it was that good looking. I quietly came up behind him and said,
"Hey I'm Frank," in a low seductive voice.
"Hey" He turned around "Hello…I'm Adrian," He smiled whilst leaning back on the bench and I felt like swooning. We started a conversation and gradually got closer and closer until our arms were touching.

"Wow, Frank I've never met anyone like you, you know that," And one of those infamous smiles of his crept onto his face. I felt a blush come to my cheeks and I averted my eyes to the floor knowing what was about to happen. I looked back up and met his eyes. I saw him lean forward slightly and followed his lead until our lips collided. It was short and sweet before he pulled away and pushed me into the fridge, making me moan with pleasure. Our lips were back together and Adrian was pulling at my shirt, desperate to get me into the nearest bedroom. And of course you know what happens next.

The next morning we got kicked out and called faggots by the owner of the house so we went back to mine and just hung out some more watching movies and trying to get rid of our throbbing headaches. After that we just kept hanging out at each other's place until we went on our first official date at a beautiful French restaurant. Both of us being vegetarians we shared a huge plate of Caesar Salad and fed each other croutons. From then on we had been an official couple. We didn't do that as often as we used to though. Adrian, being the animal lover he was, had finished his last year at Uni and now being a successful vet he was always too busy for me. I kind of felt a little left out. We rarely did anything but have sex and occasionally he would come and see me for at the most a few hours a week. I was starting to get…lonely.

The only time he sees him is early in the morning for a few precious seconds. Will he have the balls to ever say hi?
Warnings: Swearing, Homosexuality, Slight stalkerishness

The furiously beeping alarm clock on my bedside table shifted me from unconsciousness back to reality. I rolled over to face the annoyingly bright red flashing numbers. 5:20am. I groaned as I pulled the warm comforting blankets off of my pyjama-clad pale body. I usually woke up this time in the morning but not for the same reasons other people would. Most people get up this early to go to work or to exercise. Not I, I get up this early in the morning to watch a complete and utterly beautiful stranger run past my house every day.

I ran my fingers through my hair as I walked down the stairs. Once down I made my repetitive cycle of going to the kitchen to make some coffee before going over to the windows facing the road. Seems kind of stalkerish I know, but the guy was flawless. Yes guy, I’m gay, I have been since I hit puberty when I realised I had no attraction to any females at all. I’m not ashamed though, I’m quite proud of my decision and my family accepts me for who I am so I’ve never had any reason to be ashamed.

I sipped the hot beverage then set it down on the windowsill. I dragged one of the beat up old one-person couches over to the window and slumped down into it, waiting for the 4 seconds that I would get to see the perfect specimen of male run past my house. I looked out nervously at the sidewalk. No sign of life yet but the birds chirping softly. I looked up towards the clock to make sure I was on time. Yep. Always was. I glanced back up the hill that my house was nestled at the bottom of. And sure as hell there he was. The perfectly toned, slightly tanned body running down the hill towards my house. When the sunlight from the early morning sun hit him, I swore he glowed. I sighed and leaned forward slightly to get a better look. Oh, I was lucky today, he rarely ran without a shirt. I imagined touching the silky smooth skin of his bare chest and running my fingers through that long luscious dark brown hair. Oh god he’s sweating. I felt my pants tighten as he jogged slowly down the hill trying not to trip up. He slowed to a quick walking pace and glanced up at my house. His step kind of paused for a second or so before he kept going keeping his eyes to the window I was at.
“Oh shit!” I near exclaimed and jumped up pulling the curtains shut.

I tried to resist the temptation to peep through the curtains but just couldn’t help myself; I pushed two fingers into to the gap between the curtains and looked through. I could see his ass from this view, I only looked for a brief second though as I saw his head turn to look back towards my house, I quickly pushed the curtain back and sighed.

This was pathetic. I had been watching him run for close to five months now and I didn’t even know his name. I couldn’t talk to him; I couldn’t even show my face to him. What kind of sad disturbed person was I? I picked up my now nearly empty cup of coffee and took it back to the kitchen. I noticed I still had a little…problem below so I quickly ran up to the bathroom in my bedroom and went for a shower. After I was clean and ridded of my problem I realised that it was still early and I didn’t have to go to work, as I was unemployed I went back to bed. I never got much sleep and waking up early was beginning to affect my mood.

I awoke some hours later to the ringing of my cell phone; I reached my hand out to grab it off the table.
“Hello?” I murmured I was still very tired.
“Hi Gerard, its me Mikey,” my brother said gleefully into the phone.
“What the hell do you want?”
“Wow, I love you to Gee,” he replied and could almost hear his smirk, “anyway remember mum said she wanted to see us both today at 2pm”
“Yeah I remember so what?” I replied
“So what, its 2:15 Gee,” He said over-exaggerated.
“Shit, shit, tell mum I’m sorry, fuck damn, I slept in a-fucking-gain,” I yelled jumping up to find clothes decent enough to wear to visit my mum.
“I’ll see you soon then,” Mikey said and then hung up.
I raced around grabbing essentials and putting them in my bag. I ran my fingers through my hair that would have to do; I didn’t have time to brush it. I ran out the door and into my panel-van. Luckily my mum’s was only 15 minutes away.

On the way there I passed a house and the gorgeous man that ran passed my house every morning watering his garden. I slowed down a little but he looked up and saw me his jaw dropped and he dropped the hose. I instantly turned my head back and began to drive faster. Shit that’s the second time today I scolded myself. He hasn’t noticed me since…well ever. What makes today so different? I silently debated in my head wether it was just coincidence or something was going to happen.

Ten minutes later, I pulled into my mother’s driveway and got out lazily pulling my hoodie over my head. I walked into the house and was greeted by my mother’s arms pulling me into a motherly embrace. She pulled back, smiled and kissed my cheek. But then she frowned and gave me a disapproving look.
“Take that stupid thing off your head, you look ridiculous,” She laughed.
“Hi mum, sorry I’m late. I was just really tired that’s all,” I said back laughing softly.
“What do you do all night that would make you so tired?” She asked cocking her eyebrow.
“Nothing that you would want to know my dear mother,” I replied laughing louder this time.
Mikey made a disgusted face but laughed lightly.
“Oh Gerard, honey I want to introduce you to someone,” She said as if just remembering the other female quietly seated on the couch.

“This is Alicia,” She said motioning towards her. I groaned. My mum was yet again trying to set me up with someone.
“Mother have I not told you that I am gay about 500 times?” I said quiet annoyed. I smiled at the girl who looked confused.
“I’m sorry my mother brought you here, you can go home if you want,” This made her face turn bright red and she looked like she was about to laugh her head off.
“Uhh, Gee this is MY girlfriend,” Mikey said quietly trying to hold in the laugher. My eyes opened so wide I thought they were going to pop out and I felt my face turning a bright red. I hid my face in my hair as my head dropped from shame. Then everyone burst out laughing. I felt tears stinging my eyes from embarrassment. I said sorry and it was nice meeting her quietly to Alicia and told my mum I had to go. I quickly left not know what just happened.

I drove home still feeling embarrassed, a hint of red still tinting my cheeks. When I got home, I had only just walked in the door before hearing the phone ring. I had a pretty good idea who it was going to be.
“Hello?” I said.
“Gerard, are you okay?” Mikey said concerned
“No, I embarrassed myself so bad in front of your girlfriend, I’m sorry,” I said ashamed.
“It’s okay, mum has tried to set you up so many times before, I wouldn’t blame you,” Mikey said.
Good old Mikey, he was so good at making me feel better.
“Thanks Mikes,” I said a little more cheerful.
“It’s all good, I’ll have to bring her over another day so you can meet her properly.”
“Okay Mikes, we’ll do that sometime,” I said.
“K bye, talk to you later,” Mikey said and the phone went dead.
I felt a lot better now. It was about 3:00pm so I decided to have afternoon tea. I trudged into the kitchen and rummaged through the cupboards. Damn, nothing. I rarely ever left the house for anything but to go shopping and to Mikey’s and occasionally my mums. Looks like I’ll have to go shopping, I thought gloomily to myself still feeling tired after a long night of lone drinking. I picked up my keys and hoodie and began to walk down to the store.

The bell tinged as I opened the door to the small grocery shop, I walked inside and grabbed a basket, I skipped the fruit and vegetable section and went straight to the junk food. I stopped dead though, that guy that I had been watching was in the aisle I wanted to go down. What was with today, this was the third time I had seen him. I quickly turned around and went down the aisle adjacent to the one the unnamed man was in. I cautiously walked down the aisle and spotted him in between a gap through the shelves. He seemed to be trying to grab Twizzlers off a very high shelf; I didn’t notice he was so short when he came running. I thought about going to help him. He probably get scared and run away. After all when he saw me in the car he had been shocked. I didn’t want him to think that I was stalking him, even though really I kinda was.

I debated going and talking to him the whole time he was shopping, I followed him staying in the aisle next to his occasionally throwing some random food into my basket. I saw something shiny out of the corner of my eye. I realised it was the beer fridge. I went to grab some but not before I cautiously glanced between the shelves. I gasped inwardly he was gone! I started to panic. I walked to the edge of the aisle and carefully peeped around the shelves before quickly running to the beer fridge at the end of the store. I looked both ways before opening the fridge and grabbing a few six packs. I walked carefully up and down the shop looking through the aisles for my unnamed crush. I instantly calmed down; he was nowhere to be seen. I casually continued with my shopping randomly grabbing packets of things and throwing them in the basket. It was starting to get heavy so I moved over to the cashier and coincidently enough; there was the short man with his basket of items waiting in line. I joined the line I was behind him. I put my hoodie up and fixed my gaze to the ground so I wouldn’t be recognised. I debated in my head whether to talk to him. This went on for a few minutes until he was finally at the cashier.
‘Come on you worthless pansy, just say hi.’
‘No, What if he recognises me.’
‘Just do it what have I got to lose.’
‘No.’
‘Yes.’
I finally plucked what slight courage I had and decided to tap him on the shoulder and say hi. I hesitantly lifted my arm and my fingers were just about to brush his shoulder lightly he moved and I flinched. As I went to touch him again he picked up his bags and walked away.
